To the parent left in aching grief, Love stolen swift like a falling leaf— God sees the cracks within your soul, He knows what’s missing, what was whole. He too once lost a cherished Son, Who cried aloud when all seemed done “Oh God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken Me?” A cry of pain, for all to see. And even then, arms open wide, He whispered soft before He died “Forgive them, Father—they know not what they do,” Mercy poured out, pure and true. God clothed Himself in fragile skin, To feel our loss, to bear our sin. He suffers with us, cries our tears, He’s been through pain across the years. Truth rises like oil to the water eventually, And love outlasts all enemy strategy. One day we’ll wake, and so will they— Our children, lost and led astray. They’ll see it wasn’t just us to miss, But the Father’s love, His healing kiss. He is the key, the missing thread, The One who rose, though once was dead. The enemy came to steal and destroy, To trade in sorrow, steal our joy. But God will return what the canker worm stole, And mend every heart, and make us whole. So forgive, as He forgave through pain, Let mercy fall like gentle rain.
